When she was 22, she met and fell in love with a man from her church who became her husband.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In this story of emotional abuse, you\u2019re going to hear:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">A survivor story of control and manipulation&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">How isolation can make abuse more dangerous and destructive&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">How Double Abuse\u00ae can happen when victims try to talk about their trauma&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">How there IS hope and help for victims of abuse&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 35px !important;\">It Started During Their Engagement<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During their engagement, Katy began to notice issues of control and manipulation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After they married, they moved to Los Angeles\u2014away from family and friends, and joined a new church.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He led worship, and they co-led Bible studies.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But her husband was vastly different in private than he was in public.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 35px !important;\">Control and Manipulation Became The \u2018Norm\u2019<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Control and manipulation became deep emotional abuse.
